Bulhusslippen
Bulhuse were constructed from oak planks and were common during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. From the 16th century, this building method was repeatedly banned in the Kingdom to ensure sufficient timber for the navy. However, Aabenraa was located in the Duchy of Schleswig, where the ban did not apply. Here, bulhuse were built, as they came to be through the slipway, until the 18th century.
